An important principle that underlies our business is to be involved with and support charitable work.  Hoolock Consulting gives a fixed percentage of its revenue each year to various charities.

In 2023, we’ll be participating in I’m a Director, get me out of here, in support of Crossroads Care. You can learn about this, and the charity, here, https://crossroadscaresurrey.org.uk/imadirectorgetmeoutofhere/. If you would like to donate, you can do that here, https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/tim-gibbons6.

In 2022 we supported Oakleaf (https://www.oakleaf-enterprise.org/); Pancreatic Cancer (https://www.pancreaticcancer.org.uk/); Bowel Cancer UK (https://www.bowelcanceruk.org.uk/); and Crisis at Christmas (https://www.crisis.org.uk/).

In previous years, we have supported CJD Support Network, Prospect Hospice, Build Africa, Oakleaf Enterprise, Shelter, Alzheimer’s Research and Surrey Drive, an initiative to provide food to NHS workers during the Covid-19 pandemic

From 2020, we have been offsetting the impact of all of our flights by donating to The Woodland Trust, https://www.woodlandtrust.org.uk/. We donate £5.00 for every 1000km flown in addition to all other charitable donations.

In addition, we try to join in activities to support charities, recently taking part in the Topic of Cancer Charity Golf Days.

Community

An important principle of the company is to be part of the local community and to use as many local companies as possible to supply goods and services for the company. We are part of various local business networking groups as well as Mole Valley Chamber of Commerce. We have provided training, advice and support to a number of local companies to support their development.

We regularly spend time at Ashcombe School in Dorking working with Year 10 pupils during Business Week. The pupils get to try out what it is like to run a business for a few days as part of learning what the world of work is like.

in 2021, we also helped with Covid-19 testing when the children returned to school after lockdown.
